We stayed at Zion Cliff Lodge on June 6. After driving more than 7 hours, we arrived around 6 PM and found that the room we booked did not have a private bathroom. I would like to acknowledge that I also had some responsibility in this situation. When I first viewed the booking page on Booking.com, I did not notice clearly that this specific room did not include a private bathroom. However, the room details were not presented clearly to me, and the listing information gave the impression that bathroom facilities were included. For a family of four with two adults and two teenagers, staying in a room without a private bathroom was not a practical option. Because we arrived in the evening and there was no staff available onsite, we contacted the owner by phone. During our conversation, the owner offered to change our room to a king-size room with a private bathroom. However, since we were four people, one king-size bed was not suitable for us. We explained this to the owner, and it was the owner himself who told us that if we decided not to stay, he would refund our payment. Based on his statement and promise, we made the decision to leave and find another place to stay. Later during our trip, we contacted the owner again regarding the refund. He told us that he could not refund us because Booking.com had not paid him yet. We then contacted Booking.com, and they explained that they do not hold the money and that the refund decision must come from the property. Booking.com also informed us that when they contacted the property, the staff said they had never approved any refund. This was very frustrating because the information from the property and Booking.com was completely inconsistent. We contacted the owner multiple times, and each time he told us he would refund us. However, when we asked him to provide written confirmation by email and explained that we could provide our communication records with Booking.com, he ended the phone call. This situation is not about the amount of money. It is about trust, honesty, and taking responsibility for what was promised to a guest. A business’s reputation should not be damaged over a small refund amount. Unfortunately, after this experience, we feel that the owner did not handle the situation with honesty or professionalism. Future guests should be very careful to confirm every detail of the room before booking, especially whether the room includes a private bathroom.

Wow!! We (3 of us) had an INCREDIBLE experience at Zion Cliff Lodge (ZCL). We stayed over the 4th of July, and the accommodations were amazing. Shem & Lisa are 1st class all the way. They made sure all of our needs/questions were met. Shem checked in with us anytime he saw us to make sure everything was going well. Both my sons (teenagers) "really liked that place". (When do teenagers like anything??) The open, all-hours breakfast bar was so convenient with good food. The rooms & bathrooms were very nice & clean. The location was perfect for our needs. We will stay here again. We were so impressed with ZCL that we told a friend who lives in Hildale that it is a great place for their friends/family & business meetings.

Although about 20 minutes from the hot springs, certainly worth the stay. The owners , Shem and Lisa, were exceptional hosts attentive to every detail and need. And best of all, they are just nice, good hearted people who make you feel like family. I will go back again if just to visit with them and their beautiful home., which is exquisite in every way.

We stayed here for just one night and the room was amazing, the whole place felt like a home away from home and the owners were so friendly. Would recommend and if we ever find ourselves back in Utah, we’ll be back!

The service, the lodge etc all of it is awesome! The owners were incredible and helped us with everything we needed and made our stay that much better. They have a fire pit outside, a basketball goal, onsite laundry, 24/7 help yourself breakfast and a lot of nice beer on tap. They even have a full kitchen. Everything you could need they have and are willing to let you use and are always around. The location is great too, it is a little far from where we were going most days in Zion (40-50 mins) but it’s a good straight stretch that’s easy to navigate. Definitely try them out!

Truly deserving of more than 5 stars. The lodge is impeccably clean, thoughtfully designed with beautiful wooden craftsmanship, and offers the perfect atmosphere to relax and unwind after a long day. The hosts were exceptionally warm and hospitable. Highly recommend this place.
